Restore Dell device drivers

If you find that the hardware of your Dell computer has started generating problems then there might be changes that the drivers have corrupted. However you can easily restore these drivers in your Dell computer only if you can locate the original drivers that are corrupt and reinstall them. Dell computers generally come packed with a number of CDs for such type of situations. For instance, if your computer screen seems out of whack or your system no longer plays sound then you might have to restore the device drivers. Once you have restored the device drives the problems will be surely resolved.

To restore you device drivers you will first have to find your Dell driver CDs which are generally labeled clearly as Drivers. When you have found them just insert them into your computer and your computer will prompt a box asking you the drivers to be installed. If you are aware of the drivers that are corrupt, you can instantly select them from the list and restore them. However, if you are not sure, then you will first have to find out the drivers that have been corrupt.

To find out the corrupt drivers you can open you control panel and open the device manager. The device driver will have a list of all the devices installed on your computer. They also use visual display system to let you know when the device is corrupt. If you find any devices that have yellow exclamation point, then it means they are corrupt or have problems and these are the device drivers that should be replaced or restored. When you know this just get back to the screen of your Dell Driver CD and select the appropriate drivers that should be restored. You might have just a single driver to restore or a number of them depending on the extent of drivers that are damaged. Like for instance, if the motherboard drivers have been corrupt then you will have a number of different components which reside on the motherboard to be restored.

You might think that it would be a great problem if you cannot find Dell Drivers CD. In such case, Dell generally maintains a list of device drivers which are made available to be downloaded through their website. You just have to visit the Dell official website and find their technical support area. At the driver download area you will usually be asked to enter your operating system and computer model. This will basically provide you the exact device drivers that match your Dell computer. You can then download the device drives and if they are self launching just follow their installation commands. If not, you can use your device manager to update the devices with the exact device drivers. Here you just have to open the ‘update device drivers software’ option and then the browse option will help you navigate to the downloaded device drivers where you can install them. When you download device drivers from Dell website make sure to save them in your computer so that you can easily restore drivers the next time you need to.
