Network card drivers

Network card drivers are the most important driver in the computer. Network cards are used to connect a computer to a network. This driver bridges the gap between two or more computers. Once the computer is connected to a network by the use of this driver it can exchange files and folders or any other data from the other computer also. They are also called as network interface cards (NIC). It is mainly a connection from the main computer that is the server to the other computers in an office. This is done so that information can be passed on from one computer to the other computer without the use of paper file.

This helps in reducing cost to a company. By setting up a network of computers exchange of data takes place. This reduces the cost of removable hard drives. Even printing cost can be reduced by the usage of single printer instead of multiple printers. Each computer latched on the network can access the printer by a simple print command on their computer by the help of this driver. Internet access can be shared by the installation of this driver.

To create a network minimum two computers are required equipped with network card and a router. Once the hardware is installed on the computer it is ready to use, drivers are also installed at the same time. This network is connected by wires from the computer network card to the router. After the configuration of the router connection between computers takes place. Exchange of data is now possible. Cost can be cut with one time investment of wireless connection. For this a wireless configured router and a wireless network card is required. This saves space as the use of wires is eliminated.

In today’s generation all the computers come with onboard network cards. This makes it easier to connect to other computer on a network. Manufactures like Intel, Belkin, 3Com & Broadcom are the leading manufacturers in network cards. All these companies focus on one thing how to connect a computer to another computer in an easy way. Looking at the development side of this generation it is a must for every organization or offices to have a network card installed in their computers or workstation as information is the key to growth. Exchange of data is a must in every organization as it helps in increasing profits.

A network card can be found on the motherboard. It contains a unique six digit code with the use of a hyphen.

A driver must be updated or modified after a month’s times as new upgraded software keep coming on the internet. These upgraded drivers are the modified and enhanced version of the current driver. They can be easily downloaded from the internet. This is important because the new upgraded driver can improve the performance of the system and the transfer rate of data can be done in less time. It also helps in increasing connections of computers in an office. Some drivers cannot take the transfer load so the latest drivers or updates can be used if the setup is growing.
